our story
In November 2021,
Umusop was born in the small village of Ongpori on the western side of Jeju.
We wanted to incorporate fresh ingredients grown on our land into cosmetics.
We began by embracing the clean sea, year-round warm temperatures, and fertile soil of Jeju,
where abundant quality ingredients thrive. Jeju offers a plethora of excellent materials.
Among them, Jeju's native sea squirt accounts for 90% of the nationwide production.
Not only is it extensively produced on the island, but it also boasts a pristine quality, free from the detection of heavy metals commonly found in seaweed.
Umu soap was created to introduce healthy cosmetics made with quality ingredients from Jeju and sea squirts harvested by Jeju's female divers to many people.
